SRH vs DC – IPL – Team Previews
SRH’s form has taken a hit as they are currently ranked second-last in the IPL points table with just two wins from six matches. They have lost two games in a row for the second time this season and are now four points away from the playoffs.
The team’s batsmen have been struggling, and it’s crucial that Abhishek Sharma and Harry Brook provide a solid start. Rahul Tripathi, Markram, and Mayank Agarwal must build partnerships in the middle order. Delhi’s top order will face a stiff challenge from Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Marco Jansen with the new ball.
In the upcoming game, SRH will open with the Brook-Abhishek combination for a period of time while Mayank plays the role of a floater, according to coach Brian Lara. If SRH bat first, they could have Tripathi in the playing XI and swap him with T Natarajan or Dagar for the second innings as they did in the last game against Chennai Super Kings.
Delhi Capitals secured their first win of the 2023 IPL campaign in their last outing against Kolkata Knight Riders, winning by four wickets in a low-scoring match. Ishant Sharma was the standout performer with the ball, taking two wickets for just 19 runs to limit KKR to 127. David Warner also had a good game, scoring his fourth half-century of the season to end the team’s five-match losing streak.
However, the batting line-up still looks shaky, particularly Prithvi Shaw’s form at the top. The overseas players have not performed well either, with any of Mitch Marsh, Rossouw or Rovman Powell crossing the 50-run mark in the tournament.
Despite the win, Delhi may not want to make any changes unless they decide to replace Shaw. In that case, they could opt to open with Phil Salt.
