PAK vs NZ – 2nd ODI – Team Previews

Pakistan

Babar Azam and his men did a fantabulous job in the first ODI by stopping the visitors at a very nominal score. Every decision was perfect and in the end, the game fell in favour of a much better team. Men in green will be coming on the ground with a similar combination of players.

It was a memorable day for Naseem Shah as he picked up 5 wickets in 10 overs for an economy of 5.70. Usama Mir, Mohammad Wasim Jnr, Haris Rauf and Mohammad Nawaz also provided timely breakthroughs in the game. In the second ODI, the bowlers will be expected to repeat a similar performance.

Fakhar Zaman and Babar Azam provided a stable start to the team but Imam-ul-Haq lost his wicket a bit early. However, it was Mohammad Rizwan and Haris Sohail provided a much-required push to the team and won the game without many issues. Babar Azam put up a strong performance and had five boundaries and one six to score 66 runs off 82 balls.

New Zealand

New Zealand’s Pakistan tour started on a disappointing note and it seems like the second ODI is a must-win fixture to level the series. New Zealand has witnessed a dip in their overall performance in the limited overall format of the game. Skipper Kane Williamson would be eyeing to make at least one change in the squad.

In the batting department, the side will be relying on the likes of Finn Allen, Devon Conway, captain Kane Williamson, Glenn Phillips, Tom Latham and Michael Bracewell to deliver the bulk of the runs. Michael Bracewell batted well in the first game of the series, scoring 43 runs off 42 balls.

In the bowling department, the onus will be on the likes of Tim Southee, Henry Shipley, Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi and Michael Bracewell to provide timely breakthroughs. Williamson might replace Lockie Ferguson with Ish Sodhi to make sure the bowling remains strong enough.
