Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators will lock horns in the 6th game of the Pakistan Super League. Entering the game, Karachi will hope to revamp after a poor 2022 season as they finished at the bottom of the table, while Quetta will also want to improve on their 5th-place finish.

  • The Karachi Kings are fifth in the points table and have lot both their games in this year’s tournament against Peshawar and Islamabad.
  • The Quetta Gladiators, meanwhile, have also endured a tough start as they lost their only game to Multan Sultans.
  • In their previous encounter in February of last year, the Gladiators emerged victorious with a 23-run win.

KAR vs QG – PSL – Team Previews

Karachi Kings

Karachi Kings are struggling in the bowling department as they have conceded 199 and 178 (in 18.2 overs) in their two games. In their first match against Peshawar, Karachi Kings failed to meet expectations when they bowled first and allowed their opponents to score 199 runs, with half-centuries from both Babar Azam and Tom Kohler-Cadmore.

In their second game against Islamabad, they batted first on a good surface and scored an under-par 173 in 20 overs. Haider Ali scored a valiant half-century but he lacked support from the other end. The score turned out not to be good enough for the Islamabad batting line-up as they chased it down easily with 10 balls to spare.

The bowling line-up has some big names in Imad Wasim, Mohammad Amir and Andrew Tye but has struggled. They would want more from their overseas stars Andrew Tye and James Fuller. Due to a fractured finger, Mir Hamza has been replaced by Akif Javed for Kings’ PSL 8 campaign.

Quetta Gladiators

In their opening match against Multan Sultans, Quetta Gladiators struggled with their batting, as only Jason Roy and Mohammad Hasnain managed to score over 20 runs, resulting in a low score of just 110 runs.

Despite Nuwan Thushara taking the wicket of Shan Masood early on, a brilliant innings from Rilee Rossouw led the Sultans to an easy victory, chasing down the total in just the 14th over with only one wicket lost.

As they prepare for their next match, the Gladiators must decide whether to include Will Smeed in their squad and are also looking to involve Wanindu Hasaranga before he departs in early March. Meanwhile, Naveen-ul-Haq is unavailable due to international commitments, so Nuwan Thushara is expected to continue as his replacement.

KAR vs QG – PSL – Pitch Report and Toss Prediction

The T20 cricket pitch at Karachi’s National Stadium is known for being batting-friendly, with an average first innings score of 184 and little support for the pace bowlers. Spinners might come into the game later on. As a result, it is expected that the match on Saturday will be high-scoring.

KAR vs QG – PSL – Match Prediction

Both Quetta Gladiators and Karachi Kings are looking for their first win and will be giving their all to come out on top. However, given the close games that Karachi Kings have played so far, they may have a slight edge over Quetta Gladiators and could emerge victorious.
