LAH vs MS – PSL Qualifier 1 – Team Previews

Lahore Qalandars

The defending champions of PSL8, Lahore Qalandars, finished the regular season in first place with seven wins and three defeats. Fakar Zaman has been their most reliable batsman with 378 runs in the competition. Despite their loss to Karachi Kings in the last league match, Lahore Qalandars are not too worried since many of their key players were absent in the last match.

Rashid Khan has been one of the standout performers for Lahore Qalandars with 15 wickets in eight matches, making him the third-leading wicket-taker in the tournament. As an experienced player in high-pressure games, he will be crucial for the team in the upcoming match against Multan Sultans. Skipper Shaheen Shah Afridi is also in phenomenal form and will be a key player for the team in the big match.

Lahore Qalandars are expected to make several changes to their lineup, bringing back veteran Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza into the playing eleven. David Wiese will also be handing over the leadership responsibilities to first-choice skipper Shaheen Afridi.

Multan Sultans

The Multan Sultans finished the regular season in second place with 12 points. Rilee Rossouw and captain Mohammad Rizwan have been the key batsmen for the team, with 388 and 483 runs respectively, while Abbas Afridi has been their top bowler.

In their recent match, Multan Sultans won a historic game, defending their first-inning total of 262 by 9 runs in a high-scoring match.

Opener Shan Masood’s poor form and Usman Khan’s impressive performances suggest that the chances of Masood making a comeback are slim. The Multan Sultans have a destructive batting lineup, and their approach will likely depend heavily on it.

Lahore Qalandars have the upper hand in their head-to-head record with 8 wins from 15 encounters, including both games in the league phase.

LAH vs MS – PSL Qualifier 1 – Pitch Report and Toss Prediction

Following previous matches in the tournament, the pitch at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore has heavily favoured the team batting first, with chasing teams losing all six matches so far. Spin bowlers are expected to be effective on this pitch. Therefore, the team winning the toss should elect to bat first and aim for a total above 180, which is considered a good score on this ground.

LAH vs MS – PSL Qualifier 1- Match Prediction

On a pitch that is expected to favour the batsmen, the better bowling side usually comes out on top. Lahore have also won twice against the same opposition in the league phase. So we expect Shaheen Shah Afridi’s side to win the game.
