PES vs MS – PSL – Team Previews

Peshawar Zalmi

The season of Peshawar Zalmi has been inconsistent so far, as they have not been the top team in the competition but have done enough to stay in the race for the playoffs. With 8 points from four wins in eight matches, they are currently ranked fourth in the standings.

Babar Azam, who is considered one of the finest batters of his generation, is demonstrating his skills in his debut season for Peshawar Zalmi. He is currently the team’s top run-scorer, having scored 343 runs at an impressive average of nearly 50.

In their previous game, the Babar Azam-led team showcased excellent batting skills, as the captain himself smashed a magnificent century (115 off 65), while his opening partner Saim Ayub hit 74 off just 34 balls. Rovman Powell also played an outstanding cameo of 35* off 18 deliveries as Zalmi posted 240 runs in 20 overs.

However, despite their exceptional batting performance, the team’s bowling was equally poor. Although Mujeeb Ur Rahman and Wahab Riaz each took one wicket, they must improve significantly to compete against the Sultans in their upcoming game.

Multan Sultans

Both Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi know that a win in this game will secure their place in the knockout stages. While the Sultans had a strong start to the season, winning four out of five matches, they have since lost three consecutive games and slipped from the top spot to behind the Lahore Qalandars in the table.

Despite some quiet performances from key players like Mohammad Rizwan, David Miller, and Rilee Rossouw, Multan Sultans have a talented batting lineup that can put on a show, as they did in their last match against Islamabad United, led by Shan Masood’s 75 off 50 and Tim David’s 60 off 27. Tim David made an immediate impact in his debut for the team, scoring a half-century, and it’s unlikely he will lose his place in the squad.

However, the Sultans’ last three games have been disappointing, with the team failing to win any of them. While the batting has been average throughout the tournament, in their last game, the bowlers also struggled, with every bowler conceding more than eight runs per over as they suffered a two-wicket defeat to Islamabad United.

PES vs MS – PSL – Match Prediction

This is going to be a close game, with nothing separating the two teams in the points table. But in these tight games, the class of Babar Azam might pull Peshawar through.
