QG vs MS – PSL – Team Previews
Both teams acknowledge the importance of their upcoming match, as it will significantly affect their chances of qualifying for the playoffs. Quetta Gladiators, currently in fifth place, have earned six points from nine matches and remain in the running.
Quetta Gladiators started their season with a loss to Multan Sultans, but they bounced back with a six-run win against Karachi Kings. Unfortunately, the team endured a woeful run of form after that victory, losing five consecutive matches under Sarfaraz Ahmed’s leadership.
Although several Pakistani batsmen have not met expectations for Quetta Gladiators, Martin Guptill has been a dependable performer for them this season. He is presently their leading run-scorer, with 273 runs at an average of 39.
Quetta Gladiators are favoured to win this fixture based on their recent performances. The team led by Mohammad Nawaz has been on an upward trajectory after some disappointing displays. Their bowlers still have room for improvement, but their batting has been outstanding, as evidenced by their impressive chase of 240 runs against Peshawar.
Multan Sultans will be playing again at Rawalpindi’s ground less than a day after their match against Peshawar Zalmi, this time facing Quetta Gladiators.
Unlike the Gladiators, the Multan Sultans heavily rely on their captain Rizwan to accumulate most of the team’s runs. Rizwan is the highest run-scorer for his team, with an impressive total of 421 runs at an average of 70.16.
Rizwan has been the standout batsman of the tournament, with over 400 runs to his name. Meanwhile, Shan Masood, who has had a string of good starts, finally converted one into a substantial knock of 75 in the last game. Kieron Pollard is another valuable batsman available for Quetta Gladiators.
Ihsanullah, who currently holds the green cap, has been in excellent form, having taken 18 wickets in eight games. Meanwhile, Tim David, the robust Australian batsman, proved his worth with a blazing 60 runs off just 27 balls and will remain a valuable asset for the team.
