PAK vs ENG – 2nd Test – Team Previews

Pakistan

The men in green gave a tough fight in the first test against England but the end result went against them. There is a high possibility that Pakistan might change their playing XI for the 2nd Test. Babar Azam and his men will be low on confidence but they have the benefit of playing at the home pitch.

Abdullah Shafique, Imam-ul Haq, and skipper Babar Azam were at their best in the first inning and the trio scored individual centuries. However, there was no other batter who came close to them and they were losing wickets at the other end. In the second Test, Pakistan needs to have a strong partnership among their batters to make sure they don’t lose the series.

The biggest blow in Pakistan’s camp is the shoulder injury of Haris Rouf. He will be absent in the second fixture and his absence will hurt Pakistan’s bowling lineup deeply. Shaheen Afridi’s absence is also visible in the team as they don’t have an aggressive wicket-taker.

England

Multan pitch might turn out against England as it’s inclined towards the pace bowling attack. Rawalpindi’s pitch was in complete support of the batsmen and hence England’s batters did a great job and their opening lineup performed to the top of their class.

Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, captain Ben Stokes, rookie Harry Brook and wicket-keeper Ollie Pope will be expected to continue the momentum and score run with the same pace. Harry Brook is turning out to be an exceptional player for the English squad in all the formats of the game.

On the bowling front, the onus will be on the likes of right-arm fast-bowlers Ollie Robinson, Ben Stokes, James Anderson and the spin duo of Jack Leach and Will Jacks to produce timely breakthroughs.
