The franchise is occupying the fifth place in the points table with six points to their name from three wins and two losses. The team continued the momentum in the second game as well as they cruised to a win by five runs against Rajasthan Royals. However, there was a dip in the performance of Punjab Kings following the good start as they lost their next two games against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans by eight and six wickets respectively. 

The Kings finally bounced back in their most recent game against Lucknow Super Giants. Batting first in the game, LSG were folded at a score of 159 runs as Sam Curran and Kagiso Rabada picked three and two wickets respectively. Following the score, Punjab looked in trouble but a brilliant knock of 57 runs off 41 balls by Sikandar Raza helped the franchise win in 19.3 overs by two wickets. PBKS will now be eager to carry forward the momentum and climb up the points table. 

As far as Royal Challengers Bangalore are concerned, they are facing major consistency issues in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. The team started off on a brilliant note with an eight-wicket win over the five-time champion Mumbai Indians. RCB could not replicate the same performance and were handed a defeat by Kolkata Knight Riders and Lucknow Super Giants in the next two games by 81 runs and one wicket. Coming to the fourth match against Delhi Capitals, the Challengers recorded a win by 23 runs. It was a team effort as they successfully defended 174 runs in 20 overs. 

In their most recent game, it was again a bad day as the office for Faf du Plessis & Men as they succumbed to an eight-run loss against Chennai Super Kings. The team could score only 218 runs while chasing 227 runs in the allotted 20 overs. RCB now needs to make some quick amends and return to the winning ways to stay relevant in the competition.
