The England tour of South Africa 2023 will conclude on February 01, Wednesday as the two teams will clash against each other in the final One Day International of the three-match series. The much-fancied game of cricket is scheduled for the Diamond Oval in Kimberly.

The South African cricket team kick-started the three-match ODI series with a 27-run win against the England team. Batting first in the match, the hosts racked up a score of 298 runs. Chasing the total, England collapsed at 271 runs with a good performance by the opening pair of Jason Roy and Dawid Malan.

Following a poor run, England’s batters delivered a superlative performance in the second One Day International. Put to bat first, the Englishmen made a mockery of the South African bowlers. They posted 342 runs on the scoreboard in their allotted 50 overs. The captain Jos Buttler was the star performer with a knock of 94 runs.

He found an ally in the middle-order batter Harry Brook who slammed 80 runs off 75 balls with the help of seven boundaries and four maximums. Anrich Nortje was the pick of the bowler for the host team with two wickets to his name. Batting in the second innings, South Africa looked comfortable.

The skipper Temba Bavuma ended his lean patch with the bat. Opening the innings alongside Quinton de Kock, he smashed 109 runs off 102 balls. David Miller and Aiden Markram also performed well with knocks of 58 and 49 runs, respectively. England bowlers namely Olly Stone and Adil Rashid made good efforts by picking two wickets each.

However, South Africa won the second One Day International by five wickets to win the series. Playing on Wednesday, they will be eyeing a series whitewash to improve their rankings in the ODI World Cup Super League table and earn a direct qualification for the ICC event scheduled in India later this year.
