The opening batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been the consistent performer for Afghanistan in the three-match ODI series so far. He started the tour with a bang owing to a fifty. In the first One Day International, the wicketkeeper-batter scored 53 runs off 55 balls. His partnership of 84 runs for the first wicket was the highlight of the match. The second game again saw the exploits of Gurbaz. When most of the Afghan batters failed to perform, he recorded a stunning knock of 68 runs. However, his efforts went in vain as the rain canceled the match. The 21-year-old is currently the top run-scorer in the three-match series and he is likely to spill his magic again on the field on Wednesday.

Top Sri Lanka batter: Pathum Nissanka

Sri Lanka’s opening batter Pathum Nissanka is likely to be the standout performer for Sri Lanka in the third One Day International against Afghanistan. He was the only positive thing for the hosts in the first match. Despite the failure of most of the batters, Nissanka held his fort while chasing 295 runs in 50 overs. His knock of 85 runs off 83 gave the island nation an excellent platform. However, the lack of support from other batters resulted in a defeat. The 24-year-old has enough experience under his belt with 19 ODIs.
