  • Quetta Gladiators are coming into the Saturday game after losing to Multan Sultans by nine wickets.
  • Quetta Gladiators have won three of their last five matches against Karachi Kings in PSL history.

Both Karachi Kings and Quetta Gladiators will be eager to end their lean patch in the Pakistan Super League 2023 when they will square off against each other at the Multan Cricket Stadium in Multan on February 18, Saturday. Kings and Gladiators are struggling in the tournament and they will hope to change their fortunes in the Saturday.

Quetta Gladiators are reeling at the last place in the points table with no win to their name. They played against the runners-up Multan Sultans in their opening match of the competition. The outing did not go as per the plan for the Gladiators as they failed to make an impact both with the bat and ball. The skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed lost the toss and the team was put to the ball first.

It was a poor batting display by the side as they ended up with only 110 runs in 18.5 overs. Jason Roy tried to give the team a good start but he was also dismissed after scoring 27 runs. The Gladiators’ bowlers also failed to pick up any momentum and they lost the game within 13.3 overs. Nuwan Thushara was the only bowler to get some success as he picked one wicket.

Speaking of Karachi Kings, they are also yet to score their first win in Pakistan’s domestic T20 tournament. The team has featured in two matches so far and collected zero points to languish in the second-last place in the points table. Karachi Kings suffered a two-run loss in their first game against Peshawar Zalmi.

The team ran out of luck as they ended up with only 197 runs while following a score of 200 runs in their allotted 20 overs. It was again a bad day at the office for the Kings in their second match against Islamabad United. This time the franchise lost by four wickets as they scored 173 runs in the first innings and United chased the score in 18.2 overs.

Both the teams are expected to fight tooth and nail on Saturday to bring an end to their unbeatable ride in the tournament.

Top Karachi Kings Batter: Imad Wasim

Top Batter
  • Tip By: Brian Thorpe
  • Tournament: PSL 2023

The Karachi Kings skipper Imad Wasim has been leading the franchise with example. The 34-year-old delivered one of the best performances of his career in the shortest format of the game in the opening match against Peshawar Zalmi. As Karachi Kings were given the target of 200 runs to chase in 20 overs, Wasim came up with a blistering knock of 80 runs including seven boundaries and four maximums. He stayed in the middle to face 47 runs and scored runs at a strike rate of 170.21. Wasim could not continue the momentum in the second game against Islamabad United as he bagged a golden duck. However, we are backing the batter to again churn out an exemplary performance on Saturday.

Top Quetta Gladiators Batter: Jason Roy

  • Best Odds: 5.25 @ Becric

The English opening batter Jason Roy is required to shoulder the responsibility of scoring the most runs for the team Quetta Gladiators in their second match of the Pakistan Super League 2023. Gladiators have a relatively less threatening batting unit and thus it is more important for Jason Roy to score runs and give his team a good chance of scoring a win. Roy scored only 27 runs in the curtain-raiser game against Multan Sultans after facing 18 balls. Overall, he has featured in 64 T20 International and has a total of 1522 runs to his name at an average of 23.78 and a strike rate of 137.61.

The 19-year-old Naseem Shah is touted as the next big thing in the Pakistan cricket team. The seamer will be playing a crucial role for Quetta Gladiators on Saturday when they will battle it out against Karachi Kings on Saturday. In Quetta’s first game, Naseem could not pick any wicket considering the team was defending a low score of 110 runs. However, he made his presence felt with the ball by conceding only six runs in his two overs at an economy rate of three. Shah also has 14 wickets to his name in 16 T20 Internationals for the Men in Green.
