In their first game against each other, Lahore defended 175 runs in a nail-biting thriller to cruise to a win by one run. The defending champion continued their exploits in the second game as well as this time they scored 180 runs in the first innings and restricted Sultans to 159 runs in the second innings. 

Speaking of their overall performance, Lahore Qalandars finished at the top of the points table. The team managed to collect 14 points with the help of seven wins and three losses. Lahore did extremely well at the beginning of the competition as they lost only one of their seven league matches. However, the team could not continue the fine run and ended up losing two of its last three games. They are heading to the Qualifier match after suffering an 86-run defeat against Karachi Kings. 

On the other hand, Multan Sultans, won six games while losing four matches to accumulate 12 points and end up in second place in the Pakistan Super League standings. After losing their first game against Lahore by one run, the Sultans bounced back and scored a victory in their next four consecutive games. 

There was again a dip in the form of the franchise as they lost three consecutive games against Karachi Kings, Lahore Qalandars, and Islamabad United. However, the team made a comeback towards the end and won its last two games against Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators by four wickets and nine runs respectively. 

It will be a must-win game for both teams as the side winning the contest will book a berth in the final while the losing team will go into the second Eliminator match.
