The victory pushed the team to fourth place in the points table with two points to their name.

Peshawar Zalmi defeated Karachi Kings by two runs as they defended 199 runs in the 20 overs with ease.

However, Zalmi received their first setback in the competition in their second game against Multan Sultans. They lost to the runner-up of the last season by 56 runs. Both the batters and bowlers underperformed in the game. In the first innings, Multan Sultans scored 210 runs and Peshawar Zalmi collapsed at only 154 runs in 20 overs while chasing the total.
