They excelled in all three facets of the game in the first Test match against Bangladesh to score a win at a massive 188 runs. The visitors will now be aiming for a series win by 2-0 as they will fight a battle with the Tigers in the last Test of the two-match series.
The second Test match is scheduled to be played from December 22 to December 26 at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka. The first Test between the two sides saw Indian batters ruling the 22-yard pitch. Opting to bat first, the KL Rahul-led side posted a big score of 404 runs on the scoreboard. Cheteshwar Pujara was the top run-scorer for his team with a knock of 90 runs. Pujara found excellent support in Shreyas Iyer, who smacked 86 runs. Following the score, Bangladesh batters flattened. They could score only 150 runs as Kuldeep Yadav picked up five wickets while Mohammed Siraj returned with three wickets.
India continued the momentum in the third innings as well owing to centuries by Shubman Gill and Cheteshwar Pujara. The visitors added 258 runs to the scoreboard to take the lead to 512 runs. It was a big total and despite efforts by Bangladesh batters, they could score only 324 runs. Kuldeep Yadav again shined with the ball as he picked up three wickets. Meanwhile, Axar Patel was the top wicket-taker in the fourth innings with four wickets.
KL Rahul & Men will be eager to continue the momentum to take the trophy home. Bangladesh, on the other hand, needs to be at their absolute best in the match starting on Thursday to stop a strong Indian team.
