It will be a battle between the laggards of the points table during the 17th match of the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2023 as IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans will be clashing against Ba11sy Trichy. IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans are currently occupying the second-last place in the Tamil Nadu Premier League points table. They have featured in a total of three league games, winning one and losing two matches. ITT made a poor start to the T20 Championship with a defeat against Lyca Kovai Kings. 

The batters let the Tamizhans down as they could score only 109 runs while chasing 180 runs in the allotted 20 overs. The opening batter Tushar Raheja was the only player to show some intent during the match, with a knock of 33 runs off as many balls. 

They were no better in their second match against Chepauk Super Gillies. Batting first, IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans posted a score of 120 runs with S Radhakrishnan scoring the most runs, i.e. 36. It was an easy target to chase for the Gillies, and they achieved the feat within 15.4 overs. 

Following two back-to-back losses, ITT finally opened their account in the TNPL points table with a win against the Nellai Royal Kings. The bowlers led from the front as they restricted the Kings to a score of 124 runs. P Bhuvaneswaran was the pick of the bowler with five wickets to his name. Chasing the total in the second innings, the team won in 18.2 overs.  

As far as Ba11sy Trichy is concerned, they are languishing at the bottom of the points table with as many as three losses to their name. The team is yet to produce a decent performance in the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2023. As a result, they have zero points to their credit. Trichy recorded their first defeat at the hands of the Dindigul Dragons by six wickets. They posted only 120 runs in the first innings and the bowlers had nothing much to defend considering the game was of 20 overs.

The second game was no better as again the batters underperformed. This time, they gave the target of 140 runs in the allotted 20 overs and Salem Spartans chased it within 15.2 overs. The wicketkeeper-batter Mani Bharathi was the only saving grace for the team with a knock of 40 runs off 33 balls. 

Ba11st Trichy’s most recent game of cricket in the Tamil Nadu Premier League 2023 saw them losing to Lyca Kovai Kings by six wickets. They again batted first and collapsed at a score of 117 runs. Apart from Ganga Sridhar Raju, no other batter scored even 35 runs. It was a comfortable total to chase for the Kings and they registered a victory in 18.2 wickets with six wickets in hand.

Playing on Sunday, it is extremely important for Trichy to break the losing streak and record their first win in the T20 Championship.
