Mumbai ended up with 109 runs in the first innings. The team fell flat against Delhi’s decorated bowling line-up namely Marizanne Kapp, Shikha Pandey, Jess Jonassen, and Arundhati Reddy. It was an easy target for the Capitals and thus they reached to a win within nine overs. 

If we consider the overall performance of the two teams, DC-W have an edge. They finished at the top of the points table. The team lost only two league games while winning as many as six matches. Delhi earned direct qualification to the final by topping the points table. The team will have momentum on their side as they concluded the group stage with two back-to-back wins against Mumbai Indians Women and UP Warriorz Women by nine and five wickets respectively.

However, Mumbai Indians Women had to take a tough road to reach the final. Despite winning six games and losing just two matches, the team ended up in the second place because of the low net run rate as compared to Delhi Capitals Women. After ending up second, MI-W defeated UP Warriorz Women by 72 runs in the Eliminator game. 

It will be a match to watch out for as two of the best teams of the Women’s Premier League 2023 will be playing in the final on Sunday.
